I received the following from a friend: This apparently confirms that mescaline is not the only entheogenic alkaloid found in cactii. The details are a bit sketchy to say the least but quite interesting nonetheless. =============================================================== My friend performed an extraction on Trichocereus terscheckii (collected in Argentina), he crystallized all the mescaline and discarded it. He was left with an oil containing only the other PEA's present in Trichocereus terscheckii. He then took some Trichocereus peruvinaus with an unspecified quantity of this oil. Glorious! Sometimes he would drink only the oil and it was a fascinating effect too. I have experienced super potent trips from T.terscheckii; however I never experienced pure mescaline so I cannot compare. However, with T.terscheckii it always was a 16 hours trip, no matter how much tissue I ingested (note: I always drunk the liquid resulting from the boiling the tissue - puaj what a beer LOL). I remember when I first tried a cactus I made a tea out of T.pasacana, obviously nothing happened! A week later I prepared and consumed T.terscheckii (i just noticed this was the right one) and nothing happened again - I was furious and then unexpectedly paradise came to me!! Oh God! What visions!! =============================================================== Originally published on tacethno.com
