Amanita pantherina are also known as Panther Mushrooms.
The Shamans of central Asia and Siberia apparently consumed it ritually as an alternative to the Fly Agaric. Amanita pantherina var. pantherina, also known as the Panther cap and False Blusher due to its similarity to the true Blusher.
This cousin of the Amanita muscaria ranges in color from dark to light brown, tan to dull yellowish. The panther cap is found almost exclusively in deciduous and fir woods. In North America it usually fruits in early spring.
